The 1889 Hawaiian coup revolution led by Robert Wilcox was suppressed almost single-handedly by Hay Wodehouse, a catcher on the Honolulu Base Ball Club. Wodehouse used his skillful throwing arm to throw enough explosives at Wilcox’s hiding spot to dislodge the militant and end the standoff.
