An early look inside Chicago’s Wintrust Arena

By Paul Johnson

Coach Dave Leitao and staff members of DePaul’s athletic department opened the doors to WinTrust Arena adjacent to the McCormick Place Center for a sneak peek inside Chicago’s newest event center Thursday. The event drew approximately 100 DePaul alumni, the first individuals allowed to purchase season tickets before the public will be allowed to purchase them.

Not expected to be completed until September, Wintrust Arena will seat 10,300 people for sporting events.

Season ticket holders to DePaul men’s basketball games will have first-purchase availability for concerts and events at the arena.

SportOfHistory was invited to look inside and here are some images. The layout appears to be superb, with no bad seats in the house. There will be 22 luxury suites and 479 premium club seats for sporting events.

For those planning on going to concerts, it’s important to know that the music stage will be erected in the northeast corner facing the southeast.
